About Mrs. Myers

Hi, I’m Mrs. Myers and I am super excited to be your third grade teacher! I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2011 with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I then completed my Masters degree in Reading Education in 2013 from Appalachian State. Go Mountaineers! I made Northwest my home seven years ago and have experience in both third and fifth grade. I am honored to be Northwest's 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year.

Let me just tell you, third grade is a monumental year for students. My favorite part about third grade is how much I get to see students grow! Third graders will shift from learning how to read to reading to learn. They will become better readers, writers, mathematicians, scientist, and thinkers during our time together. I can’t wait to get this year started!

In addition to teaching, I love spending time with my family, serving at my church, and playing tennis. My husband, Mr. Charles is also a teacher and my favorite tennis opponent. He teaches 6th grade science at Allen Jay Prep. Together, we have one amazing daughter named Adelaide.

Another big part of my life is my BIG puppy, Bo. Bo is a golden doodle who has a ton of energy and loves to go for walks. Trust me you’ll hear a lot of stories about those three. Now that you know a little bit more about me, I can not wait to learn more about you throughout the school year!
